About Mary Moore, LCSW, L.Ac, MSOM

I have been a licensed Clinical Social worker for over 31 years, and in the last 10 years I have added acupuncture and hypnoanalysis to my practices in Austin and San Antonio. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and children. After being introduced to acupuncture while pursuing my Masters of Social Work, I became interested in the practice of Chi Gong and Tai Chi and in 2002 attended a Tai Chi Chuan international competition in Shanxi, China. My experiences in China renewed my desire to study traditional Chinese medicine. Psychotherapy and traditional acupuncture have overlapping elements and common fundamental understandings, so it was a natural progression to study the Chinese sciences of acupuncture and herbs. Hypnoanalysis provides valuable insight regarding the origin of destructive thought patterns and behavior. I know it takes courage to seek help.  Sometimes difficult emotions surface in therapy sessions, but more often than not, patients appreciate the insights we realize when we acknowledge difficult emotions and their source.

Waking up to the results of destructive thought and behavior patterns can be very humbling. But when we adjust ourselves, we adjust our present and our future. When you feel better, you’ll do better. I have been married, divorced, a single parent of two, and married now over 30 years with 6 grown children and two grand children. I would be happy to help you feel better.
